What is Simple Syrup?
Simple syrup is a liquid sweetener made by dissolving sugar in water, usually at a 1:1 ratio. Dissolving the sugar in liquid makes it much easier to mix into tea or anything else that needs a kick of sweetness! It is especially wonderful in cold brew tea. Since cold brew tea is brewed in cold filtered water then honey, granulated sugar, and other more viscous or solid sweeteners often don’t dissolve the way we’d like. So, bring on that simply sweet syrup!
To use simple syrup in your tea, just add a teaspoon or two per cup – or better yet, sweeten to your mother*ckin’ taste! Make your tea work for you!
How to Make Simple Syrup at Home
It’s so easy and delicious to make at home! The quick version is just water and sugar… so simple!

What You’ll Need:
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup water
How to Prepare Your Syrup:
Step 1: Add water and sugar to a small saucepan over medium heat.
Step 2: Stir gently until the sugar is totally dissolved.
Step 3: Let your syrup cool, then pour it into a glass jar with a lid.
Step 4: Add to your favorite cold or hot beverage!
Tip: Simple syrup will keep in the refrigerator in a covered glass container for up to a month! Holy sh*t!
