Okay, I have a confession: I’ve been drinking coffee again. Just one cup a day but… okay, that’s BS. And it’s not just the coffee; I’m dabbling in Red Bull from time to time. Phew, feels good to get that off my chest.
In my defense, I’ve been home with my three kids every day and it takes a lot of energy to keep up with them. However, it doesn’t excuse the bad habits I’ve picked up in quarantine (anyone else eating cold pizza at midnight these days?).
Anyway, I’ve noticed my caffeine reliance (and junk food binging) has become an issue so I decided to cut it down for the next week and replace it with my favorite tea blends instead. I am also going to start our 6-Week Ultimate Detox Kit. I do this kit about 4x a year; during that time I also cut out alcohol. It really helps me kickstart in the Spring and up my energy game.
7:30 AM: Just had my morning cup of Detox, as I normally do. This one’s a staple for me! I didn’t have time to figure out how to set a timer for a picture so I tried my best to get a selfie with one hand. Results varied on the selfie, but the Detox was delish!
10:00 AM: Skipped my usual cup of coffee and replaced it with our Energize blend. This tea just smells SO damn good and tastes even better. Feeling instantly perked up.
12:00 PM: I can definitely feel the withdraw kicking in. If I’m being honest I would do just about anything to get a nap in but alas… children.
3:00 PM: Strapped some sneakers on and took the kids for a long walk. It was an instant mood changer. Decided this would be a good time to have a cup of Cleanse. The weekend was filled with regrettable food decisions so I’m using this Monday as an opportunity for a fresh start.
8:00 PM: I’m tired as hell. Normally I would’ve had an extra dose of caffeine just before dinner but not today. My bedtime is normally 11 PM, but it’s looking like a 9 PM night for this old gal. Just steeped our Dream blend… ZzZzZ, see you tomorrow!
6:30 AM: Early morning for me. Woke up feeling pretty good after that early bedtime! Just had my usual Detox. Also pretty damn hungry because of the Cleanse last night. The thing I love most about our Detox is that it makes me WANT to make better choices. So I swapped the carbs for Greek yogurt and some berries. Basically winning at life. Figured out the timer; selfie game improving.
12:00 PM: I’m still feeling okay. A little tired but I think it’s because I woke up so early. Currently sipping some of our Energize blend outside and enjoying the first signs of Spring!
3:00 PM: So…effing….tired. My instinct was to reach for the Red Bull but I resisted. Very proud of myself so I allowed another cup of Energize, just until this withdraw goes away!
8:00 PM: Really wish my kids would go to sleep… Having a cup of Dream and enjoying my 17th time watching Parks & Rec. Leslie Knope is my hero.
10:00 AM: Today I woke up feeling fine, but it’s 10 AM now and I’m already exhausted. I slept great so it’s definitely my body adjusting to my new caffeine-free mornings. I ran some early errands today but brought my Detox blend along in a travel mug. Getting shit done and taking care of my gut health… winning!
3:00 PM: Going for a walk with the kids, travel mug full of Energize blend. These walks are helping pull me out of my fog… the Energize helps too! I find myself more able to focus on work while (and after) I’m sipping.
8:30 PM: Was really looking forward to my nightly cup of Dream; feeling a bit like Pavlov’s dog but I’m fine with it because I’ve been sleeping so much better.
10:00 AM: I thiiiiiiink I’m finally on the upswing! I woke up feeling way more refreshed than I did the past 3 days. Had my Detox blend on the patio while the kids played and I listened to Adele. If that’s not a good morning, I don’t know what it is.
2:00 PM: I feel much better this afternoon than I have for the past few days! I have some cleaning to do, so I popped on the kettle and had some Energize to make it a more enjoyable experience. It probably won’t cause cleaning sucks, but the smell puts me in an instantly good mood.
4:00 PM: Since I’m still doing our 6-Week Ultimate Detox I’m sipping on a cup of Cleanse. Boy… does this tea work….
9:00 AM: Okay, it seems yesterday was not just a fluke. I feel great today. Slept awesomely and woke up with a lot less bloating than I’ve been experiencing the past few weeks. The Cleanse and Detox are seriously a power couple. Drinking them always makes me want to be a better person – is that weird?!
12:00 PM: Got a ton of work done while the kiddos played outside today. Popped on a YouTube yoga session and rocked out. Sipping my Energize and admiring myself ((pats self on back)).
3:00 PM: Dog rolled in something gross. Toddler colored on the tile floor. Having a cup of Unwind to ease the pain.
8:00 PM: Did I mention how amazing our Dream blend is? Honestly… this shiz is the bomb. Goodnight!
10:00 AM: The final day I’ll be logging my progress in real-time which is good because I’ve been running out of interesting things to say. I’ll give a synopsis of my weekend and results at the end! Sipping my Detox and listening to The Spice Girls… because #GirlPower.
2:00 PM: Today got away from me! Between the kiddos and work, I forgot to steep my Energize so I’m enjoying some right now. Seriously haven’t felt this good in a while. I’m going to try to LIGHTLY jog while the kids use their scooters at the park… prayers needed.
4:00 PM: So I’m basically an Olympic athlete now. Just a regular marathonist. And by that I mean, I jogged for the first time in a very long time and I didn’t pass out! WOO!
6:00 PM: Saturday and no wine? Okay, I caved and had a glass. But do you blame me?!
Sunday I was out running errands and passed my favorite coffee place and for a split second, I seriously considered going in. BUT I DIDN’T. Thankfully I had some Energize in my travel mug or I probably would’ve made some poor decisions. Something about a sunny Sunday morning made me second guess myself. I did my third cup of Cleanse for the week that night and woke up Monday feeling pretty awesome.
I’m really proud of myself but more importantly, I feel amazing. I swear sometimes I forget how GAME-CHANGING our Ultimate Detox Kit is. I just love the way it makes me feel. My energy has been so different it’s almost hard to describe.
Using other sources of revitalization, like a walk or some Yerba Mate (the main boost in our Energize blend), gives a more consistent lift without crashing out. Instead of going through a rollercoaster with my energy levels throughout the day, I’m coasting through pretty evenly.
That helps with not only my mood and my patience, but it also helps me make better choices when it comes to food. I don’t need to carbo-load to cover up my caffeine jitters and I’m not sneaking down for a bowl of cereal at 10 PM because I can’t sleep.
This social experiment was exactly what I needed to pull myself out of the quarantine fog I’ve been in and I’m seriously happy I did it! #Summer2021 I’m coming for ya!
TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!
