How to keep calm and survive the f*cking madness of the holiday season with some snarky tips and yummy tea. Give yourself a few mindful moments of self-care this season, so you can show up as your best self.
The holidays have come and gone, and a new year is upon us!Which means: shopping chaos, late night parties, family members -- so many family members -- and generally a million more things to do each day. It’s a crazy time of year. But you don’t have to be.
Here are a few ways to not lose your sh*t during the madness of the season...
Take a breath and pay attention to the present moment, without judgment or distraction. You can practice mindfulness in tons of ways, such as meditation, breathing exercises, yoga, or simply noticing your surroundings.
Here are some great ways that tea can support a mindful routine, or at least help you capture a moment of calm in the din of the season. We suggest an herbal holiday blend like Cheer the F**k Up or Candied Pomegranate to get you back on track.
Instead of seeing short days and long evenings as totally depressing, take it as an opportunity to turn inward and reflect. Dive deep into your inner world, and explore your thoughts, feelings, and dreams. Or embrace the dark evenings with roaring fires and cozy blankets. Turn off the screen (and ads) and curl up with a good book and warm cup of Cranberry Orange Muffin.
OK – so this is the season of connection. Maybe too much for some of us. So, let’s reframe. Rather than letting giftgiving get the f*cking best of you this season, remember what’s it’s really about. Gratitude, love, and holiday spirit.
While it may be tempting to avoid the annoying cousin or dreaded neighborhood party, it’s important to stay in touch with those closest to you and your community.
BTW, social connection boosts happiness, health, and resilience – and you’ll probably have more fun than you think. So grab a delicious cup of Cinnfully Festive and reconnect.
A little light therapy can go a long way to helping your mood and energy. You know what they tell moms who are trying to calm a toddler – sunlight or water. This works crazy good for adults too! When we’re feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or tired the best f*cking thing you can do for yourself is take a walk outside or a shower. You’ll feel brand new and rejuvenated.
Oh, and don’t forget to pamper yourself a little. You can’t show up as your best self to all the holiday hoopla if you’re totally drained. Treat yourself to a hot bath, a cup of The Blessing, watching your favorite guilty pleasure, or reading a good book. You do you, so choose something comforting and calm as a reset before a big day (or week).
We’re so close to the new year, another holiday season behind us. Make sure you can make the most of it by making moments of calm for yourself along the way. And share your stories with the Snark Squad! It’s a great community to share the crazy holiday sh*t we see, and connect with others looking for a moment of calm in the insanity of the season.
