You may have heard a couple of snippets about this quick win. So, now we’re making it Snarky official. We still love our totally refreshing cold brew method, but recently there’s something new that we love! Hot Flashing!
And it’s all good, all delicious! No raging hormones from this brewed tea! Just f*cking bliss and new flavors!
Why Try Hot Flashing?
It Brews a Stronger Flavor Profile
If you like your tea a bit on the stronger side, hot flashing is for you! By brewing with a bit of hot water first, you’ll make a stronger cup of tea and enjoy a brand-new flavor profile! By brewing with hot water, you’ll get the savory traits from the tannins extracted by the hot water – added to the refreshing notes from cold brewing. A little sharp, a little fresh, a lot of f*cking satisfaction.
It’s a Quicker Brew Time
If you’re a little short on time, or you forgot to brew your cold brew last night, hot flashing could be your answer – you can still enjoy that sh*t soon! It takes about half the time as normal cold brewing, so you’re ready to indulge by lunchtime!
It Pairs with More Sweeteners
Since you use some hot water at the beginning of hot flashing, you have the option to add some sweetener during the hot water step. Aaaand since you’re using hot water, you can use sweeteners that don’t mix with cold water as well. Like sugar or honey that won’t normally dissolve well in cold water. Mix it up! Try something crazy!
How To Hot Flash Cold Brew Tea
Grab Your Sh*t
It’s all your normal cold brewing stuff – a mason jar and steeper, cool filtered water, a cup of hot water, and your favorite tea blend (or try a new one!).
Here’s How:
Step 1: Add 8 ounces of hot water (the appropriate temperature for the blend you’re brewing) to your loose tea leaves and steep for about 5 minutes.
Step 2: Fill the rest of your jar with cool filtered water.
Step 3: Chill in your refrigerator for 2 to 6 hours (about half the time of the cold brewing suggestion for your blend).
That’s all. Just 3 steps. So, f*cking easy, so f*cking delicious! Enjoy!
